Samuel Douek is a filmmaker and artist based in London.

Having trained as an Architect (Bartlett and Royal College of Art), he transitioned to film directing in 2016. His films span documentary, music video, commercial and narrative.

Previous works have included short documentary JUS+ LIKE ME which has won several awards at film festivals including Best Short Documentary at Independent London Film Awards 2019, REVISIONARY, the music video trilogy for indie-electro artist Fiorious, and a recent campaign for Absolut Elyx’s new bottle. In December 2018, Samuel was listed as one of the New Wave Creatives at the British Fashion Awards. He is currently in development for his first narrative feature project.

In addition to film directing, he produces several events working with the LGBTQ+ community such as the CAMPerVAN; a transportable queer performance and community space that can be deployed anywhere in the world to bring the wonder of LGBTQ+ performance into the public sphere, and BUM.P, the bi-monthly infamous queer dance event in London has also been running successfully for three years.

Aside to his professional endeavours, Samuel is an artist inspired by nude figurative and the immortalisation of time through art. His art practice is both informed and aided by his film collaborations, working with dancers to develop new works.
