NIGHTS was a 4 part web series developed for Grindr’s new online magazine INTO by Samuel Douek. It devled deep into the underground culture of queer nightlife in major cities around the world, uncovering hidden truths and tensions.
EPISODE 1 - LA NIGHTS
LA NIGHTS is a visual poem commissioned by Grindr's new online digital platform, INTO. It explored the burgeoning underground queer scene of Los Angeles through the eyes of a foreigner immersed in a new culture, tracing the highs and lows, anxieties and achievements of a night out in the belly of the urban beast.

EPISODE 2 - LONDON NIGHTS
LONDON NIGHTS is a Visual Poem inspired by the energy and passion of the British capital’s underground queer scene that has faced adversity in recent years with the closure of many LGBTQ+ venues. This film aimed to capture the resilience of the community and its hope for the future.
EPISODE 3 - HONG KONG NIGHTS
HONG KONG NIGHTS is the fourth instalment of Samuel Douek's NIGHTS Series.
Pulling back the facade of the world's banking capital, here we explore the concerns of Hong Kong natives about imminent absorption into Mainland China and how that will affect the queer nightlife experience.
EPISODE 4 - TEL AVIV NIGHTS
“The queer scene in this Middle Eastern city is the one of the few landscapes where Arabs and Israelis mix harmoniously. But was it always this way? Confronting Tel Aviv’s reputation for being one of the most welcoming gay cities in the world, I talked to veteran gay clubber Doron about growing up gay and queer exploitation.”
TEL AVIV NIGHTS gives a taste of the dance floor hedonism seen in LA Nights and London Nights, but Douek also goes deeper, exploring the Israeli city’s unique mix of cultures and even the commercial exploitation of queer communities:
